Ven. Shengguang Shi is the s the Abbot of Xu Yun Chán Temple. He follows the teaching of Grand Chán Master Xu Yun and received Dharma Transmission through Ven. Elder Jinghui. Ven. Shengguang Shi was formerly the Deputy Abbot of Cham Shan Temple from 2005 to 2012".

On May 12, 2008, he made a 135 km pilgrimage from Cham Shan Temple to the future site of the Wutai Shan Temple in Peterborough, Ontario. For every three steps taken, he made one bow to the ground. The pilgrimage was completed in 181 days.
